Robert TenEyck
When I was about 12 years old, I won a national contest writing an essay on what I wanted to be …A PILOT. That was in New Jersey, well over 3000 miles away and 57 years later I realized my dream.
I started serious flying lessons at age 60. At the time I was working for Flightcom and was designing an Ultralight training Intercom. I visited Talon and Hurricane manufacturers to try out my design, and ended up Buying a Hurricane. After flying the Ultralight for 5 years I became anxious to fly with my wife, thus enters a Cessna 150, and a very patient instructor by the name of John Strauss. There was a triple bypass hurdle but finally Oct. 6 2003 I COULD TAKE Ruth (Legally) for a flight. Along the way I got a job at Lightspeed working on their noise canceling Headphones. My latest aviation kick is designing and building a safety device to monitor Aircraft radio transmissions. When we’re not flying, we like to prospect for gold. Another hobby of mine is collecting Electronic Organs. And life doesn’t get much better than hob-nobbing with the colorful characters at Lenhardt’s.
